Schoenstatt rezó por la paz en el Medio Oriente. Más gente de la esperada

El Papa Benedicto XVI ha convocado a todo el mundo a ofrecer un día de oración para implorar la misericordia de Dios en un “conflicto inmisericorde”, el domingo 23 de julio. El Movimiento de Schoenstatt ha hecho suya inmediatamente esta intención y ha invitado a rezar por la paz en la Iglesia de Peregrinos, en Schoenstatt.

Época de vacaciones en Alemania, un calor casi insoportable, muy poco tiempo para organizarlo: “Calculé que no vendrán a rezar más de 30 o 40 personas”, dijo el P. Dr. Lothar Penners, director del Movimiento de Schoenstatt en Alemania. Finalmente la cantidad fue de dies veces más de la que él esperaba. Un pequeño grupo de jóvenes, preparando el “Schoenstatt Summer”, el Verano de Schoenstatt, se ocupó de la animación musical. Y cuando cantaron juntos por la paz los indios, los alemanes, los norteamericanos, polacos, mejicanos, mientras en la Iglesia de Peregrinos personas de Burundi, del Congo, de las Filipinas, de Australia, de la República Checa, de España, Francia, y de Alemania transpiraban y rezaban juntas, entonces – así lo dijo una joven norteamericana – “vemos, y creemos que la paz es posible”. “Tenemos toda la familia allá” dijo una amiga de ella, mientras las gotas de sudor le caían desde la frente.

“Por eso, lo que sucede allá causa un inmenso dolor” ¿Hay familiares allá? Si, porque en el Líbano, en Israel, en Cisjordania, viven miembros del Movimiento de Schoenstatt... Con algunos se estableció contacto a través de parientes, y en esta hora algunos de ellos rezan unidos a todo el mundo. Al comienzo de la lectura de la Palabra de Dios, se leyó la postura del Santo Padre: "los libaneses tienen derecho a que se respete la integridad y la soberanía de su país, los israelíes tienen derecho a vivir en paz en su Estado y los palestinos tienen derecho a una patria libre y soberana" El Papa condena tanto los atentados terroristas de un lado, como las represalias militares del otro: no se justifica el ataque al Líbano, una nación libre e independiente. “El Santo Padre tiene la inquietud de que no recemos como ciegos, sino que tengamos una opinión formada sobre el conflicto y la situación mundial”, dijo el P. Penners.

Al comenzar la oración, el P. Penners recordó que en todo el mundo los schoenstattianos se han comprometido por la realización de este rezo mundial por la paz. En el Santuario del centro de Buenos Aires se hizo una hora de adoración eucarística el domingo por la tarde para pedir por la paz en el Cercano Oriente. Asimismo hubo varias horas de adoración eucarística en el Santuario del barrio de Belgrano, también en Buenos Aires. En Bogotá (Colombia) toda la Familia de Schoenstatt rezó una hora en sus hogares e invitó a los vecinos y amigos a acompañarlos. En la ciudad de Corrientes (Argentina), por iniciativa del Movimiento de Schoenstatt se hizo una cadena de oración en las parroquias, desde las 8 hasta las 20 hs. En la ciudad de Resistencia (Chaco, Argentina), se invitó por radio a todos los schoenstattianos para que se rezara simultáneamente por la paz en todas las ermitas de la arquidiócesis. Similares iniciativas hubo en Bolivia, Chile y Panamá.

El próximo sábado 29 de julio se seguirá rezando por la paz en el Cercano Oriente y para que termine el sufrimiento de la población civil, con un rosario iluminado en la Iglesia de la Adoración, en Schoenstatt, a las 16 hs.

Friedensgebet für den Nahen Osten in Schönstatt – Mehr Teilnehmer als je erwartet Gottes Erbarmen in einem „unbarmherzigen Konflikt“ zu erbitten, dazu hatte Papst Benedikt XVI. für Sonntag, 23. Juli zu einem weltweiten Tag des Gebets aufgerufen. Die Schönstatt-Bewegung hat sich sein Anliegen unmittelbar zu eigen gemacht und eingeladen zum Friedensgebet in der Pilgerkirche. Urlaubszeit, fast unerträgliche Hitze, sehr kurzfristige Planung: „Ich hatte nicht damit gerechnet, mit mehr als 30, 40 Personen zu beten“, sagte Pater Dr. Lothar Penners, Leiter der Schönstatt-Bewegung. Am Schluss waren es etwa zehn mal so viel, wie er erwartet hatte. Eine kleine Gruppe Jugendlicher, die gerade den Schönstatt Summer vorbereitet, war bei der musikalischen Gestaltung aktiv – und wenn Inder, Deutsche, US-Amerikaner, Polen, Mexikaner gemeinsam vom Frieden singen, wenn gleichzeitig in der Pilgerkirche Menschen aus Burundi, aus dem Kongo, von den Philippinen, aus Australien, Tschechien, Spanien und Deutschland miteinander schwitzen und miteinander beten, dann, so eine junge Amerikanerin „sehen wir doch, dass Frieden möglich ist“. – „Wir haben alle Familie dort“, sagt ihre Bekannte, der die Schweißperlen nur so von der Stirn laufen. „Und darum tut es so unendlich weh, was dort passiert.“ Familie dort? Mitglieder der Schönstatt-Bewegung leben im Libanon, in Israel, im Westjordanland... Mit einigen besteht Kontakt, über Verwandte, und einige von ihnen beten in dieser Stunde mit. Zu Beginn des Wortgottesdienstes wird die Stellungnahme des Heiligen Vaters verlesen: Recht Israels auf Leben in sicheren Grenzen, Recht des Libanon auf Unversehrtheit seines Staatsgebietes, Recht der Palästinenser auf einen eigenen Staat. Sowohl die Terroranschläge der einen wie die militärischen Vergeltungsmaßnahmen der anderen Seite verurteilt der Papst; der Angriff auf eine freie und unabhängige Nation, den Libanon, ist nicht zu rechtfertigen. „Dem Heiligen Vater ist es ein Anliegen, dass wir nicht blind beten, sondern auch eine Meinung haben in den Konflikten und Weltsituationen, so Pater Penners. Vor Beginn des Gebetes erinnert Pater Penners daran, dass in aller Welt die Schönstatt-Bewegung sich eingesetzt hat für die Verwirklichung des Welt-Friedensgebetes: Im Innenstadt-Heiligtum von Buenos Aires war am Sonntagabend eine Stunde eucharistischer Anbetung für den Frieden im Nahen Osten. Ebenfalls findet eucharistische Anbetung statt im Heiligtum im Stadtteil Belgrano. In Bogotá in Kolumbien beten alle Familien der Schönstatt-Bewegung eine Stunde in ihren Häusern für den Frieden und laden dazu Nachbarn und Freunde ein, in der Stadt Corrientes in Argentinien war auf Initiative der Schönstatt-Bewegung von acht Uhr früh bis acht Uhr abends Gebetskette für den Frieden in den Pfarrkirchen. Über Radio lud Schönstatt in Resistencia, Argentinien, alle ein, zeitgleich an allen Bildstöcken des Erzbistums um den Frieden zu beten, weitere Initiativen gab es in Bolivien, Chile und Panama.

Am kommenden Samstag, 29. Juli, wird weitergebetet für Frieden in Nahost und ein Ende des Elends für die Zivilbevölkerung: beim Lichter-Rosenkranz in der Anbetungskirche in Schönstatt (16.00 Uhr).

Più gente di quella che s’aspettava

Papa Benedetto XVI ha convocato, domenica 23 luglio, tutto il mondo ad offrire un giorno di preghiera per implorare la misericordia di Dio in un “conflitto senza misericordia”. Il Movimento di Schoenstatt ha preso a cuore subito quest’intenzione e ha invitato a pregare per la pace nella Chiesa dei Pellegrini a Schoenstatt.
È un’epoca di vacanze in Germania, c’è un caldo insopportabile, e di conseguenza poco tempo per organizzare: “Avevo calcolato che non sarebbero venute a pregare più di 30 o 40 persone”, ha detto P. Dott. Lothar Penners, direttore del Movimento di Schoenstatt in Germania. Invece la quantità è stata dieci volte di più (da 300 a 400) di quella che ci si aspettava. Un piccolo gruppo di giovani, che sta preparando il “Schoenstatt-Summer”, l’Estate di Schoenstatt, si è incaricato della parte musicale. All’osservare gli “indios”, i tedeschi, i nordamericani, i polacchi, i messicani che cantavano tutti insieme, e nella Chiesa dei Pellegrini gente del Burundi, del Congo, delle Filippine, dell’Australia, della Repubblica Ceca, della Spagna, della Francia e della Germania, che pregavano, nonostante il gran caldo, uniti, con raccoglimento e fervore, ci si rendeva conto che “la pace sarebbe stata possibile”, come ha commentato una giovane nordamericana. “Abbiamo tutta la famiglia là”, ha esclamato con pena una sua amica, mentre le gocce di sudore le scorrevano dalla fronte.
“Quello che sta succedendo ai nostri familiari nel Medio Oriente, ci addolora tanto”. Infatti molti membri del Movimento di Schoenstatt vivono nel Libano, in Israele, in Cisgiordania…Con alcuni si è riuscito a mettersi in contatto attraverso parenti, e molti di loro pregano in quest’ora uniti con tutto il mondo. Al principio della lettura della Parola di Dio, si è letta la posizione presa dal Santo Padre: “i libanesi hanno diritto a che si rispetti la loro integrità e la sovranità del loro paese, gli israeliani hanno diritto a vivere in pace nel loro Stato e i palestinesi hanno diritto ad una patria libera e sovrana”. Il Papa condanna tanto gli attentati terroristici da una parte, quanto le rappresaglie militari dall’altra: non si giustifica l’attacco al Libano, una nazione libera ed indipendente. “Il Santo Padre insiste che non preghiamo come cechi, bensì che ciascuno abbia un’opinione ben formata riguardo al conflitto ed alla situazione mondiale”, ha detto P. Penners.
All’iniziare la preghiera, P. Penners ha ricordato che in tutto il mondo, gli schoenstattiani si sono impegnati a pregare per la pace. Nel Santuario del centro di Buenos Aires si è compiuta un’ora d’adorazione eucaristica, domenica pomeriggio, per implorare la pace in Medio Oriente. Allo stesso tempo si sono organizzate varie ore d’adorazione eucaristica nel Santuario di Belgrano, sempre a Buenos Aires. A Bogotà (Colombia) tutta la famiglia di Schoenstatt ha pregato un’ora nelle proprie casa, ed ha invitato vicini e amici ad accompagnarla. Nella città di Corrientes (Argentina), per iniziativa del Movimento di Schoenstatt, si è organizzata una catena di preghiera nelle parrocchie, dalle 8 fino alle 20. Nella città di Resistenza (Chaco, Argentina), si è invitato per radio a tutti gli schoenstattiani, affinché pregassero per la pace simultaneamente in tutte le edicole dell’archidiocesi. Simili iniziative si sono realizzate in Bolivia, Cile, e Panamá.
Il prossimo sabato 29 luglio si continuerà pregando per la pace in Medio Oriente, e affinché abbia fine la sofferenza della popolazione civile, con un rosario illuminato nella Chiesa dell’Adorazione a Schoenstatt alle 16.

Schoenstatt prays for peace in the Middle East: Far more people than expected

Due to the escalating conflict in the Middle East, Pope Benedict XVI recently called for Christians around the world to come together and pray on Sunday, July 23rd, asking them to implore God for His mercy in this “pitiless conflict.” In response, the Schoenstatt Movement immediately made this intention its own and invited people to pray for peace at the Pilgrim Church in Schoenstatt.

It is now summer vacation time in Germany. The current heat wave is stifling and the weather almost unbearable. These factors combined with little time to organize the event led to low expectations for the numbers who would actually turn out to pray: “I estimated that no more than 30 or 40 people would attend,” said Father Dr. Lothar Penners, Director of the Schoenstatt Movement in Germany. However, much to everyone’s surprise, the event drew 300-400 more people than expected. The time inside the Pilgrim Church was beautiful and truly international, as people from all over the world came together to ask God for His help and mercy. In addition to the prayers, there were songs of praise, petition, and surrender. The music was led by a small group of young people who are preparing for the upcoming “Schoenstatt Summer.” So while youth from India, Germany, America, Poland, and Mexico sang together for peace, people in the congregation from Burundi, Congo, the Philippines, Australia, the Czech Republic, Spain, France and Germany suffered the heat, sweated, and prayed together for the same goal. “We see and we believe that peace is possible,” one young American said. With sweat dropping from her forehead, a Brazilian woman said, “We have all our family over there. That is why what is happening over there causes immense sorrow”.

Does Schoenstatt have relatives over there as well? Yes, because members of the Schoenstatt Family live in Lebanon, in Israel, and in Jordan. Some of the German family was able to make contact with them, and at the very same hour some of them prayed for peace together with us, along with the entire world. Just before the reading of the Word of God, the Holy Father’s position statement was read: “The Lebanese have the right to respect for the integrity and sovereignty of their country, the Israelites have the right to live in peace in their State, and the Palestinians have the right to a free and sovereign homeland”. The Pope condemns the terrorist attacks on one hand, as well as the military reprisals on the other; the attack on Lebanon, a free and independent nation, is not justified. Father Penners declared, “The Holy Father does not want us to pray like the blind; rather, he wants us to formulate an opinion about the conflict and the world situation.”

To open the time, Father Penners reminded everyone that Schoenstatters throughout the world have committed to carry out this prayer for world peace. For example, in the central Shrine in Buenos Aires, there was an hour of Eucharistic Adoration on Sunday afternoon, along with several hours of Adoration in the neighborhood shrines in Buenos Aires and Belgrano. In Bogotá, Colombia, all the Schoenstatt Family prayed for one hour in their homes, inviting their neighbors and friends to join them. In the city of Corrientes, Argentina, the Schoenstatt Movement initiated a prayer chain in the parishes that went from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. In the city of Resistencia (Chaco, Argentina), a radio announcement invited all Schoenstatters to simultaneously pray for peace in all the wayside shrines of the archdiocese. Similar initiatives were held in Bolivia, Chile and Panama.

Prayer for peace in the Middle East and for the end of civilian suffering will continue in Schoenstatt next Saturday, July 29th, with an illuminated rosary in the Adoration Church at 4:00 p.m
